Ladies and Gentlemen,
The year 2012 has indeed passed and has proven to be yet another eventful and prosperous one. The Canadian Romanian Society from Edmonton-Boian, AB has once again remained committed to the maintenance of Romanian heritage and tradition.
After our annual election in March, a new board of directors started to work hard towards many new projects including: the reorganization and renovation of the Boian Museum, the July Boian picnic, and the annual Heritage Days in August.
Throughout the year, the Romanian Canadian Society was also fortunate to host a number of events including the first annual Society sponsored Balul Sanatatii for all individuals working in the medical, veterinarian and dental field.
Our appreciation ball for our volunteers will be postponed for January 19, 2013, where we will also commemorate out national poet Mihai Eminescu and Unirea Parincipatelor Romane.
I would like to express my thanks to all the volunteers and to all the board members of the society for their continued hard work in making all of these events a continued success. We remain committed to the encouragement of new members interested in the preservation of our cultural traditions and heritage.
I would like to thank the Society’s new board members – L. Bezovie, Vice President, R. Toma, Treasurer, G. Eccleston, Secretary, N. Bututoiu, S. Ionescu, and R. Pandi in maintaining the Society’s goals and visions.
Also, a special thanks to Mr. C. Negraru for maintaining our website and our visibility in the cyber world.
I wish you all a New Year filled with health, prosperity and happiness. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your families!
LA MULTI ANI!
Dr. J. Slanina
